In a spectacular night of football at Brea Olinda High School on Nov. 1, the Wildcats football team has completed an undefeated regular season with an impressive 10-0 record, clinching the Kappa League first-place title and securing their spot in the CIF Southern Section (CIF-SS) Division playoffs. This season marks a historic achievement for Brea Olinda’s football program and highlights the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of both the athletes and coaching staff.

The Wildcats finished the regular 2024 season undefeated and untied for the first time since 2001, when at that time they defeated Buena Park in the CIF-SS Division IX championship.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Justin Villasenor, who was recently named Los Angeles Chargers Coach of Week for Orange County Week 8, the Wildcats have demonstrated remarkable skill, discipline, and resilience on the field, overcoming tough competition and showcasing their strength as a cohesive team. This undefeated season is a testament to the commitment of the players, who have put in countless hours of training and preparation to reach this level of success.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to compete in the Division 5 playoffs,” said Villasenor. “Our team has worked so hard throughout this year and their hard work has paid off with an undefeated season. I’m very proud of our team, coaches, and the city of Brea. Go Wildcats!”

The roster of stellar players includes senior and quarterback Cullen Doyle with 22 single season school record touchdowns and 2,255 record passing yards; senior and linebacker Jake Brooks with 43 solo tackles this season and 15 single season record sacks; and junior and free safety/kicker Colby Thurman who in a single season has completed a record 47 PAT’s.

The Wildcats will advance to the CIF-SS Division playoffs with the goal of continuing their winning streak and competing for the title. The first playoff game will take place on Friday, Nov. 8, where Brea Olinda will face off against Palos Verdes High School. The game will take place at 7 p.m. at South Torrance High School.
